Biography

Born in Nardo’ (Lecce), she has studied violin and singing at the “B. Marcello” Conservatory in Venice; she then studied with Katia Ricciarelli, Gianfranca Ostini, Maria Chiara and Rita Orlandi Malaspina.

She won several International Competitions: XIII° International “ I. A. Corradetti” Competition in Padova; V Maria Callas Competition hosted by RAI.

She starts a brillant career singing: La Traviata at Teatro Verdi in Salerno and at the Welsh National Opera; La Bohème in Padua; Il Trovatore at Teatro Regio in Parma, in Busseto, at Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Rome Opera, Sofia, Lisbon, Bregenz, Welsh National Opera in Cardiff and on a UK tour; Luisa Miller in Como, Pavia, Cremona, Brescia, Piacenza and at Teatro Massimo in Palermo; Otello at Teatro Verdi in Sassari; La Battaglia di Legnanoat Teatro Municipale in Piacenza and in Ravenna; I Lombardi alla prima crociata al Comunale di Firenze, al Festival di San Gallen e al Festival Domstufen di Erfurt; Ernani in Vigoleno with Fondazione Toscanini; Evgenji Onegin and Andrea Chénier in Sassari; La forza del destino in Lima and St. Gallen; Machado’s Lauriane in Lisbon; Turandot (Liù) at the Rome Opera; Madama Butterfly in Brescia; Norma in Como, Pavia, Cremona, Brescia, Piacenza, Zagreb, Stuggart, Palermo, Catania (and on a Japan tour), Warsaw, Valencia, Pamplona and Essen; Aida in Savona, Livorno and Novara; Un ballo in mascheraAttilaLucrezia BorgiaTosca and Nabucco in St. Gallen; Ernani in Dortmund; Nabucco in Essen; Macbeth in Basel.

She has worked with such important conductors as: R. Chailly, A. Campori, G. Di Stefano, F. Luisi, A. Lombard, A. Fogliani, M. De Bernart, G. Ferro, C. Scimone, G. Carella, F. Rosa, M. Panni , P. Carignani, J. Acs, J. Kovatchev, R. Abbado, F. Biondi. R. Gandolfi, D. Renzetti, A. Pirolli, a. Fogliani, P. Rizzo, C. Montanari, M. Stefanelli and directors like: Pizzi, Puggelli, Carsen.

She actively performs also on the concert platform, frequently with I Solisti veneti, in the following repertoire: Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and Missa Solemnis, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle and Stabat Mater, as well as Verdi’s Messa da Requiem for Auditorium Verdi in Milan.
